Melt My Heart

There is a popular trend going around with melting crayons. I saw it and I thought what a wonderful fun idea! Hubby and I decided for a date night we would make something that we could have a memory of, have some fun, and have some cool artwork. We decided to do an ocean design with the ocean on top and coral on the bottom. You can do any design or picture that you can think of!!

All you need is:
1. Box of Crayons (however big box you want depending on what variety of colors you want for your picture)
2. Canvas (we got one from Hobby Lobby on sale)
 3. Blow dryer
4. Duck tape (if you don't want the crayon wax to touch a certain spot) example: I taped off where I wanted to draw 2 scuba divers.
 4. News Paper to put down on the floor
5. Clothes that you don't mind getting to dirty!

When getting ready make sure you lay out news papers. When using blow driver the crayon wax may splatter!
CAUTION: Crayon melting will get very hot! Watch around little ones!

We used some of the same colors over and over to make the colors for the ocean so we hot glued the crayons onto a piece of card board and moved it across the canvas once we got the wax on the part we wanted.

It is your choice if you want to let the wax completely melt down where it looks smooth or in some areas you can give it depth and gives it more of a thick wax surface.
To make the coral on our poster we moved the blow dryer in the direction we wanted to crayon to melt in and moved it around to give it a fun shape.

Have a fun time crafting! Let me know how it goes if you decide to give it a try and post your pictures! :) May the Lord bless you!

Psalm 100:3
"Know ye that the LORD he GOD: he hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture"
